Corona del Mar is a community rising up the hill from the Pacific Ocean bluffs between Newport Beach and Newport Coast. It is a sub-community of Newport Beach, CA.

Properties within the Corona del Mar community range from moderate sized condominiums to palatial custom homes on estate sized lots. Many of the homes on the Corona del Mar hillsides and along Ocean Boulevard have sweeping ocean views.

The first cottages and vacation homes in Corona del Mar Village were constructed in the early 1930's. Over the years most of the early cottages and vacation homes have been replaced by larger more modern residences. Also, over time a great number of the rental duplex units have been converted and sold as condominiums.

The original survey and division of lots in Corona del Mar Village provided building sites 30 feet wide by 118 feet long. Because of the close proximity of a resident's neighbor ( i.e. six foot separation between adjacent homes ) the area has become populated with a very social community - residents who enjoy interacting with and helping each other. As properties have sold over the years, some have been divided and combined with adjacent properties to provide larger building sites. In particular, along Ocean Boulevard and within the first couple of blocks north of Ocean Boulevard many large multi-million dollar homes have been developed. Corona del Mar Village homes along Ocean Boulevard have panoramic views of the ocean and Santa Catalina Island beyond.

In later years the hillside above Corona del Mar Village was developed with larger parcels and homes overlooking the Pacific Ocean. In addition, the areas of Irvine Terrace to the west, Shore Cliffs and Cameo Shores to the east were developed with larger ocean view properties.

Residents of Corona del Mar enjoy a short walk to shopping at the boutiques along Pacific Coast Highway, Corona del Mar State beach at the base of the bluff, shopping in Newport Beach Fashion Island, great schools and easy access to transportation.
