Village South of PCH (Flower Streets) Homes

Corona del Mar Village South is a portion of Corona del Mar which stretches from Avocado Ave on the west to Hazel Avenue on the east and from Pacific Coast Highway ( PCH ) on the north to the steep bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean on the south.

The first cottages and vacation homes in Corona del Mar Village South were constructed in the early 1930's. Over the years most of the early cottages and vacation homes have been replaced by larger more modern residences. Also, over time a great number of the rental duplex units have been converted and sold as condominiums.

The original survey and division of lots in Corona del Mar Village South provided building sites 30 feet wide by 118 feet long. Because of the close proximity of a resident's neighbor ( i.e. six foot separation between adjacent homes ) the area has become populated with a very social community - residents who enjoy interacting with and helping each other. As properties have sold over the years, some have been divided and combined with adjacent properties to provide larger building sites. In particular, along Ocean Boulevard and within the first couple of blocks north of Ocean Boulevard many large multi-million dollar homes have been developed. Corona del Mar Village South homes along Ocean Boulevard have sweeping views of the ocean and Santa Catalina Island beyond.
