The new Marina Park facility, on the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach, has been open to the public for some time now and I have not had an opportunity to explore the complex or learn about the available features and activities. So I took last Wednesday afternoon off from Real Estate activities to visit the Marina Park complex.
The most interesting to me was the large array of boats and equipment available on a rental basis to the public. Here is a partial list of boats and equipment:
- 6 J22 sail boats
- 12 RS Quest 14′ dinghies
- 6 Lido 14’s
- 20 Sabots
- A multitude of Stand Up Paddle Boards
- A multitude of Kayaks
- Personal Flotation Devices for all users of the above equipment
In conjunction with UCI, Marina Park is offering an extensive catalog of beginning and advanced sailing oriented classes to the public.
On the park campus there are the “Lighthouse Bay View Cafe”, community rooms available for reservation by the public, marina offices, UCI equipment rental facility, classrooms, physical fitness circuit, basketball sport courts and a children playground with miniature lighthouse slide
In addition to the above there are a few visiting sailor slips available for short term reservations.
Overall I felt that the Marina Park facility, on the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach, offers a great place to enjoy boating activities without purchasing a boat and a pleasant place to spend the afternoon relaxing by the bay.
